Mr. Mackree Sam Crenshaw, 85, of Anderson died Sunday, August 25, 2013 at the College Station Medical Center. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 27 at Nobles Funeral Chapel from 5-7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Nobles Funeral Chapel, Wednesday, August 28 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Kevin Lee and Rev. Brian Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Keith. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Mackree was born in Houston on Friday, January 20, 1928, the son of James Wright and Viola Pearl (Bennett) Crenshaw.
He married Alice Marie Hutchins and worked as a steel plant machine operator until his retirement. Mr. Crenshaw served his country in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Crenshaw; parents; son, Alan Crenshaw; daughter, Kathy Kolbachinski; two brothers and three sisters.
Mackree is survived by his daughter Vickie Crawford and husband Richard of Navasota; sons, Bruce Crenshaw and wife Sandra of Anderson, James Crenshaw and wife Felecia of Keith, Clifford Crenshaw and wife Sharon of Bryan; sister, Margie Morrell; 16 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are Bruce Crenshaw of Anderson, James Crenshaw of Keith, Clifford Crenshaw of Bryan, Josh Kolbachinski of Navasota, Chad Button of College Station and Clifford Crenshaw Jr. of Bryan. Richard Crawford of Navasota is an honorary pallbearer.
