Mrs. M. Ivene Heinrich

October 18, 1930 — July 5, 2016

Marjorie Ivene Heinrich of Iola, Tx, passed away at the age of 85, on July 5, 2016 at Kindred Hospital Northwest, Houston, Texas. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 4:00 – 6:00pm, Saturday, July 9th at Nobles Funeral Chapel. A celebration of her life will be at 3:00pm, Sunday, July 10th at Zion Methodist Church in Iola, Texas with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Larry Spooner will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Ivene was born October 18, 1930 in Paris, Texas to Roy and Vivia Park. She was a dedicated and loving wife to Gus Allen Heinrich for 64 years. She was a long-time member of Zion United Methodist Church. Her accomplishments in life were numerous but she will be remembered as a woman of God who loved and was loved.
Ms. Ivene, or Granny, as she was lovingly known, was an all-star volunteer. She was active in her children’s schools by serving many years on the PTA and being the President for many years at several schools. She held offices in her neighborhood home owners association, United Methodist Church organizations, and was team mom of all her children’s sports team. She could organize anything and worked hard at all events she was involved. She loved playing games. She excelled at 42 and loved to play up until her death. Bridge, Pinochle, Gin Rummy, Spite and Malice, Yahtzee, and Scrabble were a few other games she mastered. She said she could always tell if a person was a good person by the way they played games. She loved sewing and was a master seamstress. She made most of her own clothes, her children’s clothes and her granddaughter’s clothes. Kristin, her granddaughter always won the costume contest, with unique and detailed costumes, i.e. Dumbo, Hungry Caterpillar, a Skunk, Cruella Deville, Spice Girl, a Princess or whatever her precious granddaughter wanted to be. Granny played a significant role in Kirstin’s early development. She spent many hours when she had Kirstin teaching her math by using money and adding and subtracting. She had taught Kristin her multiplication tables through her sixes by the time Kristin started kindergarten. Granny was the foundation that made Kristin the math whiz she is today. Granny taught Kristin to read using Bible story books and coloring books. Granny was so proud of her beautiful and smart granddaughter.
Left behind to cherish her loving ways and many fond memories are children, Mark Allen Heinrich (Anderson, Texas) and Cynthia Johanna Thompson and spouse Mark Thompson (Cypress, Texas) Granddaughter, Kristin Michelle Thompson (Pearland, Texas). God children, Debbie Bledsoe, and Tommy Percival. Long time friend since fourth grade, Mary Lynn Simmons (Lake Livingston), her special best friend Ruby Stuckey (Iola, Texas). One of her favorite Sunday school students, Rebecca Wendt, members of Zion United Methodist Church, several nieces and nephews, and many whose lives she has touched.
Greeting her in heaven are her parents, her husband, her brothers Charles and Jerry Park and their spouses, and her sister Robbie Sarvis and her spouse. Also, nephews Bob and Bill Sarvis and numerous friends and other family members.
