Mr. Luther Donald Truitt

Luther Donald Truitt, 96, of Anderson passed away Tuesday, December 6th at his home. A memorial service will be held at 11:30am, Saturday December 10th at the United Methodist Church in Anderson, Texas. Rev. Jeremy Woodley will officiate.
Mr. Truitt was born in Whitney, Texas to Charles and Nettie (Hodges) Truitt on February 20, 1920. After high school, he joined the Army and served his country in WWII. He married Doris Faye Masters on June 14, 1942 and together they raised three children. He worked as an I & E Technician in construction. He loved his family and worked hard to provide for them. When time permitted he enjoyed fishing. Luther is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Doris Truitt of Anderson; daughters Donna Dannheim of Anderson and Patricia Ratliff of Iola; son L. D. (Don) Truitt, Jr., of Anderson, sister and brother-in-law Veda Ruth and Junior Carpenter of Weatherford, Texas; brother Travis Truitt of Sebastian, Texas; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and three great, great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Delmas, William, Aaron and Dencil Truitt.
