Lucy was born on April 24, 1954 in Navasota, Texas to Pedro Ybarra and Trinidad Melchor. She married Jose Guadalupe Chavarria on June 15th, 1984 in Navasota and together they raised four children. Lucy spent her life taking care of her family. She was a gifted seamstress and sewed most of the clothing for her children. She was also good at ulpholstery work and repair and throughout her life she supplemented the families income by sewing/mending for others. Lucy had a passion for red roses and took great pleasure in tending her own flower gardens. She loved God and her biggest smiles came from serving and worshiping in her church and her community. She attended many retreats for Christian women and often encouraged her daughters to accompany her. She was a strong wife, mother and servant of the Lord. To relax, Lucy could be found working crossword puzzles and watching the Hallmark Channel. She enjoyed flea markets, garage sales and the occassional trip to the casino with her family.
