Louise Hughey Busse, 92, of Navasota passed away Thursday, October 13 at the St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. The family will receive visitors from 1-3pm Sunday at Nobles Funeral Chapel and funeral services are set for 2pm Monday at Salem Lutheran Church in Whitehall with the Rev. Chris Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Louise was born in Independence, TX on April 24, 1919, the daughter of Thomas and Emma (Frank) Smith. She was a member of the VFW Post 4006 Ladies Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Melvin Hughey and Oscar Busse; daughter, Katherine Edge; son, Wayne Hughey; 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Galen and Terri Busse of Dallas; sisters, Gracie, Maydell, Lillie, Betty and Helen; grandchildren, Austin and Brooke Busse, Jan Christen, Tanya Johnson, Wayne Cooper and Sherri Hughey Malinak; 6 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Serving as pallbearers are Johnny Wayne Busse, James Brak, T.V. Abercrombie, Ernie Izard, Todd Theil and Von Herring.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salem Lutheran Church in Whitehall.
