Louis Barker

Louis E. Barker, 73, of Millican passed away Friday, October 3, 2008, at his residence. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 7 at Nobles Funeral Chapel with Bro. Toby Barker officiating. Interment will follow in Peach Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday with the family present from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Louis was born June 27, 1935 to L.S. and Mandy Lee (Cothran) Barker. On December 12, 1957, he married his loving wife, Nancy Ann Pool. He was famous for his wood working skills as he loved to carve furniture and toys.
Mr. Barker is survived by his wife of fifty years, Nancy Ann Barker; daughters, Nancy Louise Barker of College Station & Jessie Kate Barker of Houston; sisters and brothers-in-law, Tee Williams of Peach Creek, Mary Ann & Marshall Crenshaw of Peach Creek, and Judy & Donald Pitts of College Station; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy & Judy Barker of Peach Creek; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Henry Clay Barker. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the South Brazos County Fire Department.
