Lorene B. (Boehm) Schwede, 90, of Anderson, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016. Visitation with family and friends will be Monday, August 8th from 5:00 – 7:00pm at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota, Texas. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00am, Tuesday, August 9th at Zion Lutheran Church in Anderson with interment in Oddfellows Cemetery, also in Anderson. Rev. Kermit Bostelman and Rev. Matthias Dinger will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Lorene was born to Ernest and Lena (Roth) Boehm on November 20, 1925 on the family farm in Anderson, Texas. She married James H. (Jim) Schwede on January 11, 1947 at Zion Lutheran Church and together they raised a daughter and two sons. Lorene worked as a key punch operator for the Katy Railroad in Dallas and Swisher Electric Cooperative in Tulia, Texas. In 1974, the couple returned to Anderson. For ten years she worked at the Richards Post Office before retiring. Lorene was always involved in her church and enjoyed playing piano for an area nursing home and her family.
Lorene is survived by her daughter, Barbara Davis of Lubbock; son, Dr. Gary Schwede and wife Diana, also of Lubbock; grandchildren Amanda Boothe of Bryan, Erika North of Amarillo, Lyndsey Christena of Austin, Amy Beicker of Fredericksburg, Marcus Davis of Midland, and Haley Diatto of Aledo; as well as nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 67 years, Jim Schwede; son Charles Schwede; sister Pauline Manor; and brother Richard Boehm.
Serving as pallbearers are Marcus Davis of Midland, Alan Boehm of Sealy, Bill Boehm of Anderson, Dr. Dana Boehm of Hockley, Dr. Steve Simcik of Bryan and Hershel Perry, Jr. of Anderson.
