Mrs. Lois Barton

September 14, 1930 — April 11, 2019

Mrs. Lois Barton, 88 of Iola, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2019 at CHI St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, April 13, 2019 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Anderson. Rev. Eli Lopez will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. Barton was born September 14, 1930 in Mindoro, Wisconsin to Clarnece and Emma (Storandt) Kathenschmidt. After high school graduation, she obtained a degree in education and taught school until her retirement. She married Sherman Barton on June 18, 1957 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin and together they raised four children.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Barbara and Jim Middleton of Humble, Texas; Linda and John Kember of Perth, Australia; sons and daughters-in-law Glen and Nelly Barton of Paris, France and Harold and Charletta Barton of Cincinnati, Ohio; sisters Dorothy Evanson of Wisconsin, Karyl Draeger of Illinois and Judy Draeger of Wisconsin; brother and sister-in-law George and Joyce Kastenschmidt of Minnesota; grandchildren Ben Middletonm, Daniel Middleton, Emily Starnes, Ian Barton, Jules Barton, Sarah Barton and William Barton; and great-grandchildren Eli and Josephine Starnes and Katelyn and Karly Middleton.

Serving as pallbearers are Glen Barton, Ian Barton, Jim Middleton, Bed Middleton, Daniel Middleton and Harold Barton.

Mrs. Barton was preceded in death by her parents, husband Sherman Barton, sisters Phyllis Kasten, Jessie West and Betty Holdbert and brother Claire Kathenschmidt.
