Linda Louise Smith, 51, a lifelong resident of Grimes County, lost her courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at her home in Navasota.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday, September 16 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Our Light Catholic Church with Rev. Raul Marterior officiating. Rite of committal followed in the Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Linda was born Sunday, May 12, 1957, in Navasota, the daughter of Rufus J. and Annie Armatys Smith. She is survived by her father, Rufus J. Smith of Navasota; aunts and uncles, Leona and Joe H. Pasket, Angelina and Wallace Petersen, and Ed and Margaret Smith, and numerous other relatives. She was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Aramtys Smith.
Pall bearers were Marvin Sechelski, Gerald Sechelski and Josh Sechelski, all of Navasota, Dennis and Stanley Sechelski of Anderson, and Marvin Weaks of Montgomery. Honorary pall bearer was Ty Powell.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Our Light Catholic Church of Navasota, Hospice, or the American Caner Society.
