Mrs. Linda Darlene Hurst, 68, of Navasota passed away suddenly and tragically Monday, January 11th at her home. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, January 14th from 5:00-8:00PM at Nobles Funeral Chapel. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00AM, Friday, January 15th also at the funeral home with the Rev. Henry Sanders officiating. Interment will follow in the Allen Family Cemetery in Piedmont. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Linda was born in Luling, TX, on May 21, 1947, and raised by her parents, Bill & Mary Odom. She married James Hurst on September 23, 1967, in Brenham. They were married forty years before James died suddenly in June 2008.
Her absolute passion in life was rooting for her favorite Major League Baseball team, the Houston Astros. Her life was filled with many good friends and great memories. To know her truly was to love her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hurst; son, Marvin Allen Hurst; parents, Bill & Mary Odom; sister, Barbara Merchant; mother-in-law, Clero Hurst; and sister-in-law, Doris Ann Hurst Wagner.
Linda leaves to cherish her memories her son, Clint Hurst of Navasota; daughter, Bonnie Hurst and special friend Amanda McCaleb of Tomball; sisters, Glenda Lawrence and husband John of Brenham and Connie Sears of Livingston; brother, Billy Odom and wife Eva of Brenham; brother-in-law, Tommy Hurst and wife Molly of Navasota; and her adored grandchildren, Taylor Hurst and Halie Elms.
Serving as pallbearers are John Lawrence, Keith Dallmeyer, and Will Odom of Brenham, Chuck Lawrence and Darrell Hurst of Navasota, and Arvin Wagner of Independence. Honorary pallbearers are Lori Zaragoza of College Station, Shannon Selden, Candice Odom, and Paul Odom of Brenham, and Karen Bertling of Fayetteville.
