Laura Ann Pursley, born June 10th, 1961 in New Jersey, passed on January 24th, 2023, at 61 years old after recently being diagnosed with aggressive metastatic cancer.
Laura grew up and attended school in New Jersey and was a proud member of the color guard in high school. Laura married Michael Brandon Pursley on August 18th, 1992. They had 2 children, Samantha and Bryan. Laura and Brandon celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary this past year together. A New Jersey native for the first half of her life but followed her path to Texas with her husband and fell in love with the country life.
Laura had many things in this world she loved, first being family. She was the life of any party and always knew how to cheer anyone up or tell anyone off. Laura was a fierce and loving Mom to her children and all of the many friends of her kids she claimed as well. If you knew her, you knew her favorite places to be. She was always cheering the loudest on the sideline of the many games and events for her children. She worked hard to support her family, and when possible, her community. She was a proud supporter of the Grimes County Youth Football League and all Navasota and Anderson ISD schools. But the place you could find her the most was in the kitchen, cooking it up. Food was a passion she learned from her Grandma Bliss, and it was how she showed her love. Her stuffed shells and meatballs are well known and could make anyone fall in love with her. She was a huge fan of NASCAR and enjoyed cheering for her favorite racers. Laura was most grateful for her grandbaby being born in July and this brought so much joy to her heart. We cherish all the memories we have made and will continue to honor her memory by holding her close to our hearts as we journey through life without her.
She was a fierce Mama and loved with all her might. Mom was one tough lady; she never backed down from a challenge and never wanted to miss a moment of life with her family. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her, but we are grateful she is no longer in pain and instead in peace with our Lord.
