Laura Jean Collier Boenker Imhoff, age 45, of Plantersville, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas after a courageous battle with cancer. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 5:00 – 8:00pm, Friday, January 13th at Nobles Funeral Chapel. A celebration of her life will be at 10:30am, Saturday, January 14th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Plantersville with interment to follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Stoneham. Deacon David Garvis will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Laura was born in Navasota, Texas on February 17, 1971, to Milton and Patsy Boenker. As a student of Navasota High School, Laura was an Honor Student who participated in cheerleading and FFA and served as Grimes County Fair Queen. Afterwards, Laura attended Sam Houston State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education in 1993. Following graduation, Laura married Frank Imhoff, her high school sweetheart, on July 24, 1993. Laura and Frank are the proud parents of Will, Coy, and Saylor Imhoff. Laura devoted her life to her husband and children – never missing one of their school events. She was an enthusiastic member of Rattler Nation and generously supported it by volunteering her time to numerous NISD organizations. Laura radiated kindness and many were blessed by the thoughtfulness and sincerity of her friendship. Her spirit was entirely unique and even when battling cancer, Laura’s final days were spent fostering hope, uniting friends and family in prayer, and spreading love throughout a community she loved so well.
Laura is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Frank “Frankie” Imhoff, II of Plantersville; daughter Saylor Imhoff of Plantersville; sons Will Imhoff and girlfriend Sydni Uilkie and Coy Imhoff and girlfriend Megan Wales of Plantersville; sisters and brothers-in-law Tracy and Bill Shive of Navasota and Michele and Jimboy Harrington, also of Navasota; father-in-law and mother-in-law Joe and Gay Imhoff of Plantersville; sister-in-law Debra Meekins; brother-in-law Bo Imhoff and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Rayburn and Angie Imhoff, all of Plantersville; nieces and nephews Jodi and Matt Robinson, Matt & Holly Shive, Shelby Wood, Hunter Harrington and Jenna Ross, Baylee and Ty Brzozowski, Westin Imhoff and Shanlyn Sanders, Brennan Imhoff, Blair Meekins, Brock Meekins, Josey Imhoff, Rance Imhoff, Cooper Imhoff, Jeffrey and Kara Shive and other family members Cole and Cristi Harrington and Chad and Laware Henry.
Serving as pallbearers are Michael Alpizar of Plantersville, Matt Shive of College Station, Jeffery Shive of Singleton, Hunter Harrington of Navasota, Westin Imhoff, Brock Meekins, Blair Meekins and Rance Imhoff, all of Plantersville. Honorary pallbearers include Cooper Imhoff and Conner Daley.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents; grandmother Avalena Hodge; and grandparents Edwin and Anna Boenker.
