Kourtney Marie Horton, 16, of Plantersville passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. Visitation will be Monday, May 25th at Nobles Funeral Chapel beginning at 12:00 pm. A parish rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 2:00 pm at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Plantersville with Rev. Ed Kucera officiating. Rite of committal will follow in Smith-Floyd Cemetery in Plantersville.
Kourtney was born in Bryan on August 20, 1992 to Rodney & Krissy (Kapchinski) Horton. She was a sophomore at Navasota High School and loved outdoor life including trail rides, hunting, fishing, and riding dirt bikes. She enjoyed hanging with her friends and dancing. Kourtney's future plans included attending college and raising a family.
Kourtney is survived by her mother and step-father, Krissy & Terry Kimich of Plantersville; twin brother, Austin Horton of Plantersville; sister, Brittany Kimich of Plantersville; and grandparents, Charlie Kapchinski of Anderson and Bill & Laverne Horton of Plantersville.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rodney Horton and grandmother, Ruth Kapchinski.
Serving as pallbearers are Brandon Wilson, Hunter Wilson, Garrett Lipscomb, Christopher Lowry, Aaron Cannon, Peyton LeFlore, Codi Redden, and Andrew Massey.
Due to the unexpected loss, in lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made to the family in care of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
