Katherine Marie Edge, 69, of Midway passed away Friday, December 28, 2007 at her home.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 2 at Nobles Funeral Chapel with the family present from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Funeral services are set for Thursday at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with the Rev. Jack Jeter officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Katherine was born on October 10, 1938 in Navasota, Texas, daughter of Louise Smith and Melvin Hughey. She was an administrative assistant for National Oil Well and a member of #1 Fireroom of the USS Lexington. She loved her 2 cats and collecting hummingbirds.
She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Hughey; brother, Wayne Hughey; granddaughter, Randee Leigh Christen; and great-grandson, Blake Owensby.
Katherine is survived by her husband, Jerry Edge of Midway; mother, Louise Busse of Navasota; daughters, Janandale Christen of Cypress, Tanya Johnson and her husband Van of Cypress, Belinda Lee of Pasadena, Janet Nason and her husband Mike of Portage, Maine , and Laura Edge and her husband Craig of Pasadena; son, Earl Wayne Cooper and his wife Shelley of Katy; step-brother, Galen Busse of Dallas; grandchildren, Zack Christen, Philipe Olshefsky, Shawn Cooper, Joshua Genton, Rachel Braun, Amanda Lee, Eric Crawford, and Justine Nason; and great-grandchildren, Collin Christen and Kaylee Adams.
Serving as pallbearers are Tony Ferry of Maypearl, TX, Doug Harris of Kaufman, TX, G.G. Young of Tampa, FL, Tony Davis of Jonesboro, AR, Roy Smith of Holton, MO, and Eddie Baughn of Maypearl, TX.
