Rev. J.W. Eaves, 79, of Navasota passed away Friday, February 22 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m Tuesday in the Madeley Chapel in Oakland Cemetery in Navasota with Rev. Lupe Ybarra and Wade Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
J.W. was born in Mooreville, Texas on August 8, 1933, the son of James Weldon and Ruth Carolyn (Robertson) Eaves. He married Lillian McNary on May 19, 1956, in Channelview, Texas. J.W. later served his country in the U.S. Arm before beginning his career as a minister.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Joel and Mona Eaves of Brazoria, Dexter Eaves of Victoria, Sam Eaves of Austin and John and Lee Ann Eaves of Navasota; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Wade Johnson of Deer Park; brothers-in-law, Richard Seiver of Houston, David McNary of Navasota and Jerry McNary of Navasota; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Billie and Art Hunt of The Woodlands; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lillian Loraine Eaves; daughter-in-law, Linda Eaves; sisters, Dot Heffernan and Margie Seiver.
Serving as pallbearers are Joel Eaves of Brazoria, Dexter Eaves of Victoria, Sam Eaves of Austin, John Eaves of Navasota, Roland Hutton of LaPorte, Jimmy Hefernan of Houston, David Seiver of Houston and Mark Seiver of Katy and the grandchildren and great grandchildren as honorary pallbearers.
Should friends desire, the family request small trees to be planted in his memory.
