Justin Kyle Boenker, 49 of Navasota, died Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Golden Creek Nursing & Rehab, in Navasota, Texas. A visitation with family and friends will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 from 5:00 – 8:00pm, with a prayer service beginning at 7:00pm at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota. Rev. Cindy Engle, Rector of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Navasota will officiate. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 2:00pm at Frieden’s Church of Old Washington, U.C.C., with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Greg Felder will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Justin was born March 15, 1967 to Marius and Nancy (Roese) Boenker in Navasota, Texas. He attended Brenham High School and was a member of Friedens Church of Old Washington, U.C.C. in Old Washington. Justin was a die-hard fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Longhorns, Houston Astros and NASCAR. His favorite driver, Dale Jarrett, drove the UPS #88 car. He enjoyed watching his favorite teams play on television, rarely missing a game. He loved to fish and had a love for cars and motorcycles. He worked as a ranch hand in his teens and early twenties, then as an auto mechanic until his disability limited him in his ability to work. He lived on his own until June of 2013, when 24 hour care became a necessity, and became a resident of Golden Creek Nursing & Rehab.
Justin is preceded in death by his sister Melissa Dawn Boenker; father Marius Boenker; maternal grandparents Arnold (Sam) and Ivena Petersen Roese; paternal grandparents Fritz and Malinda (Grube) Boenker; and step-fathers Benjamin F. Swank, Jr. and Harold James Abshier. He is survived by his mother Nancy K. (Roese) Swank; sister Kathleen (Abshier) Dimmel and husband Mark; niece Hannah Dimmel; nephew Aaron Joswiak; step-sister Sharon (Swank) Backhus and step-brother Benjamin F. Swank III and wife Susie, all of Navasota; aunts Joyce Walkoviak and husband Marion of Humble, Nadine Roese McVey of Anderson, and Susie Nolan and husband Tim of Liberty ; uncles Arnold (Bubba) Roese, John Neal Roese and wife Diane all of Old Washington, Don Wayne Roese and wife Teresa of Navasota, William (Billy) Boenker and wife Barbara Joyce of Old Washington, Texas; “Surrogate Mom” Linda Duvall, and numerous cousins, step nieces and nephews and many friends.
Serving as pallbearers are Mark Dimmel of Navasota, Randy Roese of Anderson, Bobby Walkoviak of Houston, Jay Wells and Joshua Wells of Humble, Robbie Roese, Wayne Boenker and Preston Boenker all of Old Washington. Honorary Pallbearers are Linda Duvall of Anderson, Arnold (Bubba) Roese and John Neal Roese of Old Washington, Don Wayne Roese of Navasota, Marion Walkoviak of Humble and William (Billy) Boenker of Old Washington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Justin’s name to Hospice Brazos Valley.
