Julia Pearl (Wells) Dickschat, 91, of Navasota, died Tuesday morning, February 18th at Sheridan of Navasota. A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday, February 20th from 6:00 until 8:00pm at Nobles Funeral Chapel. A celebration of her life will take place Friday, February 21st at 10:00am, also at Nobles Funeral Chapel. Rev. Kyle Childress officiated. Interment will follow in Oddfellows Cemetery in Anderson. Serving as pallbearers are Bobby and Cole Hurst of Navasota, Zachary Hurst of Iola, Wiley Hurst of Anderson, Jimmy Wells of Singleton and Ray Wood of Richards. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Julia was born November 20, 1922, in Iola to Samuel D. and Nora (Quinney) Wells. She worked as a nurse in the pharmacy at the Grimes County Hospital for years and was a life-long member of The First Baptist Church of Anderson. She was also a member of the VFW Post 4006 Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Dickschat is survived by her sons, Don Norwood of Iola, Searcy Hurst and fiancé Jennifer Young of Anderson and Bobby Hurst of Navasota; a daughter, Virginia Gay Flynn and Mickey of New Braunfels; a brother, Edgar Wells, Sr., and wife Billie Fay of Singleton; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Dale Norwood, and her parents.
