Mrs. Judith Benoit

December 14, 1944 — July 3, 2014

Judy Coomer Benoit passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, in her home in Navasota, on Thursday, July 3, 2014. Judy was born to Harley and Frieda Coomer in McAllen, Texas, on December 14, 1944. She was the third of four children. She grew up in the Rio Grande Valley, and graduated from McAllen High School in 1962, after which she moved to Houston. She later graduated from the University of Texas, and was a well-known and highly respected real estate appraiser in Houston, Austin, and Navasota. Judy was a member of United Methodist Church of Navasota, Navasota Garden Club, past president of Austin Appraisal District and a board member of the Grimes Navasota Chamber of Commerce.

Judy was a ray of sunshine wherever she went, and her presence brought joy and laughter to any gathering. That is what those who knew and loved her will remember, and miss, most.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur Benoit, who was the love of her life, as well as her beloved son, Chance Bolton and his wife, Miranda, and two beautiful granddaughters, Blaire and Reece. She is also survived by her much-loved step-daughters, Stacey Benoit and Aimee Allen, and husband Eric, and step-grandsons, Jeff and Tyler. Her brother, Larry Coomer, predeceased her, as did her parents, but she is survived by her brother, Tommy, her sister, Barbara, and many nieces and nephews, whom she loved greatly, and who enriched her life immeasurably.

A memorial service will be held at Navasota First Methodist Church, on Thursday at 10 a.m. the Rev. C. McAllister “Mac” Vaughn, presiding. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so are asked to contribute to Compassionate Care Hospice, First United Methodist Church of Navasota or M.D. Anderson, in Judy's name. The family would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank You” to everyone for their love, concern and prayers.
