Juan Salazar, 68, of Navasota, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025, in College Station, Texas. Visitation will be from 5 pm to 7 pm, Monday, April 21, 2025, with the rosary to follow both at Nobles Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am, Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Christ Our Light Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery - Navasota. Services are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Juan Salazar was born to his parents, Juan De Dios Salazar and Evangelina Flores, on Sunday, July 29, 1956, in General Teran, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Juan learned early in his youth the value of hard and honest work would provide a bright future for him and his family. Juan was quick to learn any task given to him. He was industrious in his own regards seeking opportunities to better himself and his family. Juan’s world revolved around his wife, children and grandchildren. He married Rosalinda Castillo in 1974 and together their house became a home for their family. Juan always enjoyed a good laugh after a good day’s work. Juan enjoyed relaxing on his recliner while rooting for the C. F. Rayados of Monterrey. Juan enjoyed going out to eat with his family and trying new restaurants. Juan was always joking and in a good mood. Juan loved to give his family a hard time, but it was always fun in nature and caused a good laugh.
He is preceded in death by his parents Juan De Dios Salazar and Evangelina Flores; a daughter, Maricruz Salazar De Elias; siblings, Benjamin Salazar, Juana Salazar, and Sofia Salazar.
Juan is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rosalinda Salazar; his children, Juan A. Salazar, Flor and her husband Jose Amaya, Elizabeth Salazar, Mayra and her husband Raul Guajardo; son-in-law Silvestre Elias; siblings, David Ramirez, Soila Salazar and husband Manuel Gonzalez, Angelica and husband Enrique Ocanas, and Valentina Avalos; his beloved grandchildren, Flor Itzel Rodriguez-Salazar and wife Amanda Salazar, Esmeralda Ramos, Rubi Ramos, Lucero Amaya, Ivetth Fernandez, Erick Guajardo, Elaina Salazar, Julianna Salazar, Estella Amaya, Christian Guajardo, Andres Luna, and Jonathan Ramos; his 2 great grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces, relatives and friends.
Honoring the life of Juan Salazar as Pallbearers are Juan A. Salazar, Erick Guajardo, Christian Guajardo, Andres Luna, Edgar Rios, and Azael Mencheca. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Raul Guajardo, Jose N. Amaya, and Silvestre Elias.
