Juan Ramirez, Sr., 76 of Navasota, passed away Sunday, December 20th at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in College Station. His wife, Guadalupe Ramirez, 74, also of Navasota, passed away Saturday, December 26th, also at Baylor Scott & White. They were married 43 years. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Tuesday, December 29th at Nobles Funeral Chapel. A celebration of their life will be Wednesday, December 30th at 10:00 am, also at the funeral home with interment following in Oakland Cemetery. Rev. Erasmo Briseno will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Juan was born in Mexico on November 4, 1944 to Eliceo and Francisca (Cordero) Ramirez. He married Guadalupe Garze in Mexico on February 16, 1977. The couple moved to Texas and he supported his growing family working as a laborer at manufacturing plants.
Guadalupe was also born in Mexico on December 12, 1946 to Jesus and Anita (Robles) Garza. She was a housewife and joyfully cared for their large family.
Juan and Guadalupe are survived by their sons and daughters-in-law Juan, Jr., and Silvia Ramirez and Roberto and San Juanita Vazquez; daughters and sons-in-law Maria de Jesus and Hector Ezquivel, Norma and Eliceo Gonzalez, Rebeca and Juan Santillan; his brother and sister-in-law Raul and Francisca Ramirez; sisters and brothers-in-law Maria de la Luz, Rosaelia and Ramon Ivarra and Raquel and Torivio Lopez; her brother Santos Garza and sisters and brother-in-law Margarita Garza and Amelia and Andres Rangel; grandchildren Norma Morin, Ector Ezquivel, Ana Gallegos, Genaro Ezquivel, Diana Hurtado, Eliceo Gonzalez, Guadalupe Valenta, Santiago Ezquivel, Alejandra Meza, Roberto Vazquez, Roberto Rodriguez, Eztefania Ruvalcava, Miquel Ramirez, Juan Santillan, Francisco Ramirez, Daniela Vazquez, Jesus Santillan, Joel Santillan, San Juanita Vazquez, Mia Ramirez, Moeses Ezquivel and Joyce Santillan; and great-grandchildren Jasiel, Jesus, Edgar, Eli, Diego, Bernardo, Javier, Carly, Emely, Valente, J.R., Andres, Norma, Isabela, Roberto, Madeline, Ashley, Juan Carlos, Jr., Elias, Monica, Santiago, Melisa, Dayana, Marely, Jose Elias, Abi and Fernando.
Serving as pallbearers are Roberto Rodriguez, Eliceo Gonzalez, Juan Santillan, Miguel Ramirez, Francisco Ramirez, Joe Santillan and Jesus Santillan.
Mr. and Mrs. Ramirez were preceded in death by their parents, granddaughter Berenize and great-grandson Alex.
