Johnny Joseph Wisnoski, 51, was called to heaven on October 2, 2021 after a short fight with cancer. Visitation with family and friends will be Sunday, October 10, from 2:00 - 5:00 PM at Nobles Funeral Chapel. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, October 11, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Navasota with the Rev. Matt Morse officiating. Private interment at Whiskey River Ranch will follow at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
He was born on December 8th, 1969 in Navasota to Florence & Louis “Buddy” Wisnoski. On December 10, 1994, Johnny and Haven Werchan were married and they began their family having sons Kameron and Kaleb. In 2020, Johnny became a grandfather “Jaja” to his pride and joy, Tate.
Johnny grew up as a Navasota Rattler and graduated from Navasota High School in 1988. He attended Blinn University, Sam Houston State University and then began working for Interstate/Elwood where he made a career as a quality engineer supervisor for 31 years.
Johnny loved spending time with his family and friends, gardening, hunting, fishing, and playing a good game of cards or dice. Baseball was Johnny’s favorite sport to play, coach or watch. He enjoyed watching his sons play the game and was a huge Astros fan.
Johnny is survived by his wife Haven; sons Kameron & Kaleb; grandson Tate; sisters & brothers-in-law Frank & Janet Rosenquist and Wayne & Patricia Brooks; brothers & sisters-in-law Roy & Mari Kay Wisnoski and Robert & Rebecca Wisnoski; father-in-law and mother-in-law Larry & Sandra Werchan; mother-in-law Sharon Backhus; sister-in-law Shannon Pickering, brothers-in-law Shane Werchan, Swank Backhus and James Overton; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Florence & Louis Wisnoski, grandparents Henry & Alice Wisnoski and Mike & Victoria Nowak, numerous aunts & uncles and brother-in-law Tony Rangel.
