Jimmy Stewart

Mr. Jimmy Powell Stewart, 70, of Iola, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2009. Visitation will be held from 6 - 8pm Tuesday, April 7, at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota and funeral services will be held at Martins Prairie Baptist Church in Keith on Wednesday, April 8, at 2:00pm, with Rev. Jeremy Baker officiating. Interment will follow in Martins Prairie Cemetery.
Jimmy was born November 2, 1938 in Singleton, TX, to Willie and Emma Stewart. He married Caroline (Kelso) Stewart on June 17, 1983 in Vinton, LA. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans organization.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Billy Stewart and Ned Stewart; and daughter, Jami Stewart Evans Kildare.
Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife; daughters, Jana Reynolds and husband Dave of Buffalo, and Cara Stewart Ramsey and husband Casey of Iola; sisters, LuAnn Halford and husband Eddie, Alice Kocian and husband David, Sue Foehner and husband Nelson oall of Tomball; brother, Sewell Stewart and wife Linda of Iola; and 6 grandchildren.
Serving as pall bearers will be Tommy Lee Halford of Nantucket, MA, Chuck Bonds of Tomball, Roy Bonds of Montgomery, Gary Brautigam of Tomball, Dennis Stewart of Iola, Cleve Stewart of Singleton, Horace Mendez of Iola and Casey Ramsey of Iola.
