Jimmie Nell was born in Ashburn, Georgia on October 14, 1930 to John Allen and Eva Mae (Kato) Mason. She married Owen Henderson and together they had one daughter. Jimmie Nell was a great cook and never met a stranger, traits that served her well throughout her life as she successfully ran and managed cafes. She loved making new friends and spending time with old ones. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening and always had enough vegetables to share with friends and neighbors. She was accomplished at both sewing and crochet and was especially proud of the crocheted bedspread that won her 1st place in the county fair. She painted, played the guitar and the organ. She was a firm believer in hard work and had an inexorable love for all animals, never turning away a stray. She was a Momma, Memaw and Aunt and will be greatly missed.
