Jesus Jose Soto, 67, of Navasota passed away Monday, January 7, 2008. Funeral services are Thursday, January 10, 2008 at 10:00 am at Christ Our Light Catholic Church in Navasota, with the Rev. Morterior officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Jesus was born on July 11, 1940 in Durango, Mexico, the son of Francisco and Petra De Soto. In 1962 he came to the United States, where he met his wife Mary. Jesus and Mary married on August 8, 1973 and celebrated 34 years of marriage in August of 2007. They spent most of their lives in Navasota, where Jesus retired from Grant Prideco in 2006. Mr. Soto was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Soto is survived by his wife, Mary Soto; three children, Maria Trejo and Benny of Navasota; Jessica Soto of College Station, Jesus Jose Soto Jr. and Casey of Navasota; his two brothers, Sipariano Herrera De Soto and Miguel De Soto; five grandchildren, Jose, Anna and Lisa Amaya, Taylor and Leslee Soto all of Navasota; one great grandchild Bryson Webber and many other loving family members.
Serving as pallbearers are Francisco Alfaro, Aurelio Medina, Gregorio Gonzalez, Baltazar Alvarado, and Benny Trejo of Navasota, and Al Mills of College Station.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Christ Our Light Catholic Church Building Fund in Memory of Jesus Soto, Sr. or Hospice Brazos Valley of Brenham.
