Mrs. Jeanne F. Werner, 88, of San Antonio and formerly of Navasota, passed away Friday, January 15th, at Regent Care Center in San Antonio. Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 23rd, at 10:00 AM in Oakland Cemetery with the Rev. Matt Morse officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Jeanne was born in Brownwood, TX, on December 1, 1932, to Ralph & Elizabeth (Johnson) Fannin. After graduating high school, she attended Daniel Baker College where she met the love of her life, Walter A. “Bob” Werner. The couple were married in Brownwood on August 16, 1952, and together they raised two children.
She loved books and served as a school librarian in Navasota and San Antonio along with working with children in Sunday School and scouting. Known as a great hostess, Jeanne enjoyed coordinating and serving at law enforcement events for her husband. Her primary passion was her family, and she cherished her time with them.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, Blake D. & Elizabeth Sarles; husband, Walter A. “Bob” Werner; son-in-law, Jimmy Bailey; brother, B. Dave Sarles, Jr; and sister, Lou Ann McDowell.
She is survived by her daughter, Libby Bailey of Navasota; son and daughter-in-law, Robert B. & Mary Werner of San Antonio; grandchildren, Jeffrey & Natalie Nobles of Navasota; Jennifer & Mitchell Nesmith of Richards; Blake Werner of New Haven, CT; Taylor Werner & fiancée Kelsey Hoolahan of San Antonio; and Kristina Werner of San Antonio; great-grandchildren, Lexi, Zoe, and Maddie Nobles of Navasota, and Lane Nesmith of Richards.
Serving as pallbearers are Robert Werner, Jeffrey Nobles, Blake Werner, Taylor Werner, and Mitchell Nesmith.
