Mrs. Janice (Roeshot) Konarik, 81 of Navasota, passed away Sunday, August 7th at the Seasons on Water Street in Navasota. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 13th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Navasota. Rev. Matthias Dinger will officiate. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Mrs. Konarik was born in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania on September 25, 1940 to Robert and Alma (Jones) Roeshot. The family moved to Texas in 1957 and Janice attended Texas Women’s University majoring in Art which continued to be a joy to her although her life led her to a career as a paralegal for various law firms in Houston and ultimately to Marathon Oil from where she would retire.
Janice married the love of her life, Frank Konarik on March 2, 1991 in Houston. They moved to Thrall, Texas where Janice became involved in the community of Taylor serving on various community boards and with the Chamber of Commerce, serving as the Chamber President.
After Frank’s passing in 2012, Janice moved to Navasota in 2017 to be closer to family. She again joined in and volunteered and made many friends in her new community.
Janice is survived by her niece Robin Longron and her husband Trenton Longron. Nephews Travis (Makayla) Longron and their children, Gentry, Jace, Charlie, Kase and Clancy and Matthew (Hannah) Longron and their children Noah and Archer. Stepson David Konarik, his wife Sheila and grandchildren Devin (Morgan) Konarik and son Brentley and Drew Konarik, stepdaughter Roseanne Machann and her husband Matthew.
Mrs. Konarik was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Alma Roeshot, husband Frank R. Konark and sister Carol Ann Roeshot Martin.
