James Edward Wourms, born January 21, 1957 in Ohio, passed away suddenly at home on June 18, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, the 21st of June at Nobles Funeral Chapel with interment in the Fanthorp Family Cemetery in Anderson immediately following. Rev. Mac Vaughn will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Jim was raised from an early age in Houston, Texas where he graduated from Milby High School and followed with a business finance degree at Southwest Texas State University. He married Kathleen Ratcliff on May 27, 1989 in Anderson. He was an avid tennis player and a so-so golfer. Jim was a partner in a family printing business for many years. After the business was sold, Jim worked with Edward Jones, CFISD as a Math teacher, and with Lincoln Manufacturing as a CNC Machinist Instructor. Jim is survived by his loving wife Kathy of 25 years; son and daughter-in-law Bill and Nicole Wantuck; daughter and son-in-law Becca and Alex Sliman; parents Leo and Alice Wourms; sisters and brothers-in-law Karen and Joel Carpenter, Elaine and Jay Remley, Marilyn and Chuck Harmon, Patrice and Bill Hale and Janis Wourms; brothers and sisters-in-law Rick and Janet Wourms, Tom and Suzie Wourms, Chris and Carolyn Wourms; grandchildren Tray Wantuck, Abby Sliman and James “Little Jimmy" Sliman.
