James “Jim” Wallace, 67 of San Antonio, Texas passed away Friday, January 4th at Northeast Methodist Hospital in San Antonio. A celebration of his life will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, January 10th at Nobles Funeral Chapel with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Anderson. Rev. Jim Culpepper will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Jim was born in Houston, Texas on September 15, 1951 to Lenwood and Alice (Hensley) Wallace. He graduated from Milby High School in Houston in 1970 and pursued his BS in Construction at Texas A&M University. He was a proud Aggie of the class of ’74. Jim owned and operated a successful commercial construction company. A devoted father and grandfather, he tried hard to attend every school and extra-curricular activity they were active in. For many years, he was heavily involved in the McAllister Park Little League Association. Jim enjoyed Texas history, spending time with his children and grandchildren and watching Aggie Sports. He was a member of the San Antonio Aggie Club and the Texas A&M Association of Former Students.
Jim is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Mary “Beth” and Matt Ferguson; son and daughter-in-law James “Jay” and Rebecca Wallace; brother John Wallace and grandchildren Lindsey Wallace, Conor Ferguson, Jimmy Wallace and Logan Wallace.
Serving as pallbearers are Andy Nelson, Tyler Hoover, Joe Thiess, Dave Simmons, Art Jenness and Shawn O’Haver. Honorary pallbearers are John, Brian, Jimmy, Logan and Lindsey Wallace and Conor and Matt Ferguson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Lenwood Wallace.
