Jack Wayne Nabors died peacefully in his sleep on January 10, 2022 at the age of 85. He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, the son of Jim William Nabors and Dorothy Evelyn Bartay Nabors. He graduated from Conroe High School, and attended Del Mar College on a football scholarship and later Sam Houston State University.
Jack spent his life working with offshore drilling operations for Cameron Iron Works and Schlumberger (as SEDCO). His work took him to many different countries including Scotland, England, France, Spain, Portugal, Malta, Libya, Nigeria, South Africa, Vietnam, and Brazil, among others. In retirement, Jack was frequently asked to return to the oil industry as a consultant because of his expertise in offshore drilling operations and equipment.
Jack is survived by his wife Pamela McKnight Nabors. He is also survived by his son, Barton Wayne Nabors and daughter-in-law, Delma Prieto Nabors, and two grandsons, Zachary and Dylan and Dylan’s wife Stephanie, all of Houston, Texas. He is also survived by his niece, Lisa Bull Venturini and family of Austin, Texas.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Jimmy Ruth Nabors Bull and brother-in-law, Cecil Bull.
As a proud Texan and animal lover, Jack was a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
A visitation with family and friends will be held Saturday, January 22 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Nobles Funeral Chapel, 402 E. Blackshear St., Navasota, TX 77868.
