Mrs. Irene Roberts, 92, of Houston passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013 in Houston. A graveside service is scheduled for Wednesday, January 23 at 2:00 p.m. in Oakland Cemetery with the Rev. C. McAllister "Mac" Vaughn officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Irene was born on June 4, 1920, in Humphreys County, Mississippi, the daughter of Crosby Thomas and Nora (Upchurch) Sorrells.
Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, V. Wheeler and Emory Roberts; two brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Susie and Ross Mitchell of Alvin; son, David Wheeler of Clarksville; sister, Pauline Debenedictus of Venice, Florida; grandchildren, Lynn and Bobby Case of Houston and Amy Mitchell and family of Denver, Colorado; five great-grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity.
