Mrs. Irene Flores Castillo, 59 of Navasota, passed away Thursday, November 19, at Memorial Hermann-The Woodlands. Visitation with family friends will be held Monday, November 23, from 5:00-7:00PM at Christ Our Light Catholic Church with a Parish Rosary following at 7:00PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, November 24, at 10:00AM at the church with Rev. Elias Lopez officiating. Rite of Committal will follow in Courtney Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Irene was born on October 24, 1961, in Navasota to Adam & Lucille (Baldobino) Flores. After marrying Mario Castillo, the couple made their home and started their family in Navasota. She owned and operated Veronica’s Fruitstand and Veronica’s Daquari Shops. She never met a stranger and enjoyed talking to everyone. She had a huge smile and a contagious laugh that will be missed. Her most cherished times were spent with her grandchildren or car rides with her husband, usually to go watch a movie.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband Mario N. Castillo; sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel & Brenda Castillo, Mario Adam & Chelsie Castillo, and Mario O. & Lupita Castillo; daughters and son-in-law, Veronica Santiago; Rachel & Blake Lauter; brothers, Richard & Patrick Flores; sister Diana Flores; and grandchildren, Danielle, Orlando, Tatiana and Cameron Santiago; Mayra, Jocelyn, and Daniel, Jr. Castillo; Olivia & Camila Castillo; and Yahir, Adrian, Fabian and Yaretzi Castillo.
Mrs. Castillo was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Charles & Louis Flores.
Serving as pallbearers are Daniel Castillo, Mario A. Castillo, Mario O. Castillo, Edgar Rios, Azael Menchaca, and Yahir Castillo.
