Irene Busse, 87, of Navasota, died at Grimes St. Joseph on Friday, December 27, 2013. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00pm on Monday, December 30 at Nobles Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00am at Salem Lutheran Church in White Hall with interment to follow in Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery. The Rev. Chris Richardson will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Irene was born on October 10, 1926 in Brenham to Edward and Esther (Hopmann) Rodenbeck. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in White Hall. She worked most of her life in the dairy while raising five children. She was a member of the VFW Post 4006 Women’s Auxiliary and the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League for a number of years. She loved flowers and gardening, but her greatest rewards came from her devotion and love to her family and friends. She loved people and loved helping others as she demonstrated throughout her entire life.
She is survived by a son, Troy Busse of Anderson, daughters and sons-in-law Janis and Dennis Frenzel and Wyndy and George Kimich, all of Navasota; one sister and brother-in-law Kathryn and Gilbert Janner of Brenham, one brother, Calvin Rodenbeck of Brenham, two sisters-in-law Ruth and Helen Rodenbeck of Brenham, grandchildren Robert Frenzel, Kenneth Busse,
Cabe Busse, Brady Frenzel and wife Melissa, Farron Eickenhorst and husband Justin, Brian Busse, Carl M. Busse; great grandchildren Charlie Busse, Fallon Frenzel, Conner Frenzel, Kori Frenzel and numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, Edward and Esther Rodenbeck; sisters and brothers-in-law, Esther and Bill Walker, Lillie Smith, Mildred and Charlie Buerger; brothers Edward, Wilburn, Alfred and Gilbert Rodenbeck; sons Carl and Don Busse; granddaughter Mallori Kimich; great grandson Forey Frenzel; nephews Charles Buerger and Bill E. Walker.
