Mrs. Ida Hemann Marzahn, 92, formerly of Navasota, passed away Monday, February 16, 2009 at Burleson Nursing and Rehab Center in Burleson. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 21, 2009 from 9:00-11:00 am at Nobles Funeral Chapel, with graveside services at 2:00pm at Friedens Church of Washington, UCC, with Rev. Ron Trimmer officiating.
Ida was born April 1, 1916 to Fritz and Katie Lenz Hemann, in Whitehall. She was baptized April 24, 1916 in Whitehall by Rev. G.C. Albers, and was confirmed April 13, 1930 at Salem Lutheran Church in Whitehall by Rev. L.A. Tinklein. She was married to Henry Marzahn October 21, 1937 at Salem Lutheran Church in Whitehall, by Rev. A. Groeschel. Ida worked all her life taking care of others and will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Marzahn is preceded in death by her parents, an infant son; husband Henry and son Gerald Wayne Marzahn. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Clarence and Tawn Marzahn of Ft. Worth; granddaughters, Melissa R. Marzahn of Gainesville, FL and Kathryn I. Schmidt and husband Jared of Sealy; sisters Erdine Lauter and Sophie Wehmeier of Navasota, and Christine Abke of Spring; sister-in-law Ivy Dell Hemann of Navasota; numerous other grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
