Houston Ray "Pappa" Dirickson, 80, of Keith died at 3:00 p.m. Friday at his residence. Ray was born November 18, 1930 in Bryan County, Oklahoma, the son of Saunie Ray & Frances Schultz Dirickson. Ray was a member of the Orphans Friend Lodge AF&AM , the American Legion, the Disabled Veterans, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Mylida Adell Erwin Dirickson and a daughter Pamela Dirickson McClarren.
Ray is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law: Houston Ray, Jr & Kathy Dirickson of Hearne, John Henry & Molly Dirickson of Iola; sisters and brother-in-law: Joy Schultz of Conroe and Mary & Emery McDuffy of Iola; brothers: Elmer Roy Dirickson of Bryan and John Colvin Dirickson of Pharr.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 9 at Evergreen Free Will Baptist Church in Keith with Rev. John High officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday, August 8 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nobles Funeral Chapel.
