H.L. Patterson

H.L. Patterson, 76, of Hearne passed away Saturday, August 20 at his residence. Visitation will be held Monday, August 22nd from 5-8 pm at Nobles Funeral Chapel. Funeral services are set for 10 am Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Wesley Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Stoneham Cemetery.
H.L. was born in Grimes County on August 24, 1934, the son of Frank and Josephine (Hammock) Patterson. He married Louise Brown in Houston on June 12, 1953 and loved her for 58 years. He was a lifelong iron worker and loved working with his cattle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jack and James Patterson; sisters, Mildred Baker, Audrey Cain and Myrtle Howard; son, Darryl Patterson, and son-in-law, Darvis Gordon.
Survivors include his wife, Louise of Hearne; daughter, Brenda Gordon of Anacoco, LA; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Susan Patterson of Gauge, Douglas and Betty Patterson of Huffman and David Patterson of Hearne; sisters and brother-in-law, Edrie Burkett of Giddings and Mattie and Jack Beeson of Ledbetter; brothers and sisters-in-law, Franklin and Wanda Patterson of Kingwood, Chester Lee and Grace Patterson of Valley Mills, and Dean and Shirley Patterson of Buffalo; grandchildren, Tammy Patterson, Brad and Sarah Patterson, Derrick and Carrie Gordon, and Jeffrey and Maria Gordon; and great-grandchildren, Craig, Vincent and Victor Gordon.
