Mr. Herbert F. Eickenhorst, 72, of Navasota, passed away Wednesday, January 27th at his residence. A private family graveside service was held at Oakland Cemetery last week with Rev. Mathias Dinger of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Herbert was born November 2, 1943 in Navasota to Herbert W. Eickenhorst and Thelma (Finke) Eickenhorst. He graduated from Navasota High School and joined the Texas National Guard. On February 15, 1964, he married the love ofr his life, Mary Jo McNiel in Anderson. Together they raised a son, Jason. Mr. Eickenhorst was a substation supervisor for Gulf States Utilities for many years.
Herbert is survived by his wife of almost 52 years, Mary Jo; son and daughter-in-law Jason and Marisa Eickenhorst of Alexandria, Virginia; sister Debbie Honeycutt of Navasota; brothers and sisters-in-law Curtis and Doris Eickenhorst of Navasota and Larry and Elizabeth Eickenhorst of Navasota and numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
