Hector Reyes, 65 of Navasota, passed away Monday, August 13th at his home. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00pm, Wednesday, August 15th at Nobles Funeral Chapel, followed by a parish rosary at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, August 16th at 10:30am at Christ Our Light Catholic Church with Rev. Eli Lopez presiding. Rite of Committal will be in Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Hector was born in Mexico on October 22, 1952 to Jose Reyes and Maria De la Luz Pineda. He was one of nine children. Hector moved to Texas in his early 30’s to find employment opportunities so that he could help his parents out financially. His strong work ethic, mechanical knowledge and quiet, honest demeanor soon landed him a job at a local ranch. He liked baseball and was a avid Houston Astros fan. He was happiest around his family and his nieces and nephews adored him. Hector is survived by his father, Jose Reyes; sisters and brother-in-law Micaela and Manuel Cosino, Sandra Luz Reyes and Ma Del Rosario Reyes; brothers and sisters-in-law Jose Angel Reyes, Protasio and Barbara Reyes, Hipolito and Alma Delia Reyes, Jorge and Marie Reyes and Arnoldo and Carmen Reyes, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Maria De la Luz.
Serving as pallbearers are Sergio Trejo, Alejandro Olvera, Arnoldo Reyes, Jr., and Martin Solis, all of Navasota; Venancio Cosino of Burton and Ismael Reyes of Bellville.
