Miss Harriet Ruth Ketchum, 81, of Canyon, Texas, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016 in Amarillo, Texas. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 8:00 - 9:30am, Thursday, August 25th at Nobles Funeral Chapel. Rev. Clyde Larrabee will officiate at the graveside service following at 10:00am in Oakland Cemetery in Navasota. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Harriet was born in Navasota, Texas on November 10, 1934, the daughter of Dr. E.T. and Helen (Conrad) Ketchum. Having earned bachelors and masters degrees in education from Baylor, she was a swimming coach and physical education teacher until her retirement.
Harriet was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Everard T. Ketchum Jr, and Charles A. Ketchum.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Betty Ketchum of Navasota; nieces and nephews, Thomas Ketchum of Ft. Worth, Kate and Stephen Miller of Navasota, Carolyn and Michael Prescott of Navasota, Karen and Randy Prince of Leander, as well as several great nephews, and nieces, and two great, great nephews. She is survived by best friend, and life-long companion Audre Seabridge of Canyon, Texas, along with many other dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Navasota.
