Mr. Harold “Bud” Trant, Jr., 75 of Anderson, passed away Friday, March 5th at his home. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, March 20th at Allen Cemetery in Anderson. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Bud was born in Silsbee, Texas on April 30, 1945 to Harold Bell Trant, Sr. and Selma Rosalice (Mabry) Trant. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserve and worked in law enforcement for Grimes County as a jailer until his retirement a in 2010. Bud also enjoyed raising cattle and ranching. He married Janice Allen on June 21, 1980 and together they had one son, Jim-Bob Allen Trant. Bud also had two children from a previous marriage. A quiet, reserved man, Bud enjoyed deer hunting and spoiling his grandchildren. The recent loss of both his wife and son, Jim-Bob devastated him.
He is survived by son and daughters-in-law Harold B. Trant, III and wife Mary and Lauren Trant; daughter and son-in-law April and Luis Rodriguez; brother Bobby Trant; sisters Patsy Trant Langford and Robin Trant Johnson and grandchildren Trace, Emma and Will Trant.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents; wife Janice Trant and son, Jim-Bob Trant. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution in his name be made to the Jim-Bob Allen Trant Memorial Fund c/o First National Bank of Anderson, P. O.
