Mr. Loukanis was born September 13, 1936 in Richards, Texas to Anthony and Victoria (Posinski) Loukanis. He grew up on the family farm in Anderson, TX, and moved to Houston in the early 1950's where he worked as an auto mechanic and owned and operated his own garage. He later went to work for Brochstein's, Inc. as a maintenance supervisor where he retired in 1989. He moved back to the family farm in 1992, where he married Ellen Monroe on July 4, 1992, and began farming and ranching. He owned cattle and loved to go to the auction to buy and sell more cows, pigs, guineas, goats, or whatever animal caught his eye at the time. He always had many animals at the farm as well as a stocked catfish pond. He hosted an annual catfish fry on Good Friday every year for his family and friends to enjoy. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time with nature. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and hog trapping.
Mr. Loukanis was well known and well liked within the community. He supported many of the local churches by being the "big" buyer at their annual bazaar's live auction. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
