Harold Borski

January 5, 1925 — March 24, 2010

Mr. Harold J. Borski, 85, of Anderson, passed away Wednesday, March 24 at the College Station Medical Center. Visitation will be held Friday from 7:30 to 8:00 pm, with a rosary beginning at 8pm at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, and a funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00am Saturday, March 27, also at the church with Rev. Raul Marterior officiating. Rite of committal will follow in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery with military honors.
Harold was born in Richards on January 5, 1925 to Micheall and Mary (Nowak) Borski. He served in the United States Army during World War II under General MacArthur during the Philippine conflicts in Manilla. He attended the college of technologies at the University of Houston and later returned to study finance. He worked for Nabisco for 41 years, and was proud to be a co-founder of the Nabisco Federal Credit Union where he served as president of the board. Before his retirement in 1990, he also served as the president of the Bakers and Confectionary Union and Business Managers. Later in life, Harold built his home in Anderson, TX near the spot where his parents lived, and he enjoyed many wonderful years there. He was an active member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, belonged to the Knights of Columbus, and worked with various charities. Harold treasured family, gardening, fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed meeting and sharing life stories with everyone he met. He loved a hard days work, and a good evenings rest, sitting in the swing with Buttons, his loving dog. He always told a good story and was a gentle man. He will be missed greatly by his family and everyone who knew him.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Steve Klawinsky.
Survivors include his sons & daughters-in-law, Darrell & Harriet Borski and Gary & Sheryl Borski, all of Anderson, and Bobby Borski of Houston; sister, Martha Klawinsky of Anderson; brother & sister-in-law, Thomas & Louise Borski of Houston; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, with another on the way.
Serving as pallbearers are Gerald Fontaine of Navasota; Felix Kimich, Jerome Klawinsky, Adam Pasket, Marion Klawinsky and Gary Klodzinski, all of Anderson.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church Building Fund.
