Mr. Glenn Davis Fuqua, 71 of Navasota, passed away Sunday, January 10th at CHI St. Joseph Regional Health Center. Calling hours will take place Friday, January 15th from 2:00-4:00PM at Nobles Funeral Chapel. A celebration of his life will be held Friday, January 15th starting at 4:00PM at the Western Steakhouse & Dancehall with his close friend Rev. C. McAllister "Mac" Vaughn officiating. A private interment will follow at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Glenn was born in Navasota on August 28, 1949, to Daryl “Buckshot” Davis & Wilma (Harrington) Fuqua. He spent the majority of his life running a heavy equipment construction company leading to the establishment of Glenn Fuqua Inc in 1973. He also had numerous real estate investments and various other business ventures including The Western Steakhouse & Dancehall and the soon-to-be opened Western RV Park. He enjoyed dances and had a great love for Western Swing music, gambling, and spending time at his ranch. Glenn made a lasting impression on Grimes County with his big heart and generosity. He showed this through his support of the Youth of Grimes County, the Grimes County Fair, the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, the Grimes County Go Texan, and many other organizations in his community.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Inez Fuqua.
He is survived by his son Wade Davis Fuqua; grandson Waylenn Davis Fuqua; sister Becky Fuqua Towns; niece Kasha Towns; loving & caring companion Daphne Day; great niece Dallas Lehman; and numerous other family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers are Chuck Frede, Slim Pasket, Faron Helvey, Hunter Harrington, Shorty Zurita, Felipe Olvera, and Juan Padron.
Honorary pallbearers are Skeeter Stoltz, Richard Hereford, Marvin Weaks, Joe Imhoff, and Walter “The Milk” Thane.
