Glenda Holt Evans, 55, of Navasota, passed away after a 19 year long, courageous battle with breast cancer on Saturday, November 2nd at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center with her family by her side.
Visitation will be held at Nobles Funeral Chapel Friday, November 8th, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 9th, at Whitehall Fairview Cemetery. A memorial celebration will follow at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church of Navasota, with Rev. Tomas Spath officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Glenda Lee Holt was born in Navasota, Texas on July 27, 1964, to E.M. & Lee Holt. She graduated from Navasota High School in 1982 and went on to receive her Business Certificate from Brazos Business School in 1984.
Glenda married James Evans on April 27, 1985; together hey had two daughters, Abbie Allen and Taylor Turner, both of Navasota.
She worked for the Texas A&M System and Texas Transportation Institute for 31 years. She was actively involved in the First Presbyterian Church Choir and multiple committees within the church, as well as the youth programs and mission trips. She served for many years on the Appaloosa Horse Committee with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, also serving as a leader of the Navasota 4-H Clubs.
Glenda is survived by her husband of 34 years, James Evans; daughters Abbie Allen and husband, Clayton and Taylor Turner and husband, Jonathon; granddaughter Ellie Allen, with another due in January; parent E.M. Holt and wife, Nancy; sister Gail Parnell and husband, Bob; brother Guy Holt and wife, Katie; In-laws James Evans and wife, Ruby; nieces and nephew, Ryan Parnell, Stephanie Parnell and Lauren Holt.
Glenda was preceded in death by her mother, Lee Holt.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Memorial Fund of First Presbyterian Church of Navasota. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at MD Anderson Cancer Center and St. Joseph Cancer Center, as well as the entire community for the outpouring of love and support throughout the years.
