Georgie was born in Navasota on February 5, 1926 to George and Roxy (Lawrence) McGee. Shortly after her high school graduation, she met a striking young man by the name of John Messer. They were married on March 30, 1946, as World War II was coming to an end. Together they had one daughter, Roxanne. The Air Force stationed John and his bride and young daughter in Okinawa, Japan during the Korean War. Georgie was an accomplished bowler in a military base league. Once retired from the military, they settled in Navasota where Major John Messer opened and operated Messer’s TV Repair in Navasota. Georgie loved the beauty of roses, and enjoyed planting them and watching them grow. She enjoyed travelling, was a devoted wife and loved her family unconditionally. She doted on her only grandchild, Clint. Georgie enjoyed playing bridge and the companionship with good friends that came with a get-together on bridge days. She was a devout member of First Baptist Church in Navasota.
She is survived by her daughter, Roxanne Moores of Dana Point, California; grandson Clint Weaver and wife Andrea Weaver of Navasota and a great-granddaughter, Lela Weaver.
Georgie was preceded in death by her parents; husband and brother T. P. McGee and his wife Dorothy.
