George C. Stone, Jr. of Anderson passed away Thursday, February 21, 2008, at Grimes St. Joseph Health Center.
Visitation will be Sunday at Nobles Funeral Chapel with the family present from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 25, at the First Baptist Church in Navasota with Rev. Clyde Larrabee officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Stone was born March 9, 1929, son of George C. Stone, Sr. and Mamie Elizabeth (Davis) Stone. Mr. Stone served in the U.S. Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles Stone.
George is survived by his wife, E.M. "Nickie" Stone of Anderson; daughters, Beverly Ann Stone of Anderson, Dolores Marie Stone-Escalara of Houston, and Paula Jo Stone-Blankenship of Austin; son and daughter-in-law, Michael Edward and Connie Stone of Sugarland; sister, Margie Anderson of Austin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clyde and Daisy Stone of New Baden, and Marvin and Geneva Stone of Streetman; 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Serving as pallbearers are Mickey McDaniel of The Woodlands, Matthew McDaniel of Austin, Jason Mulvehill of Cypress, and James, John, and Jason Stone, all of Texas City.
