Georgann Walker

Georgann Bynum Walker was born in Lufkin, Texas on May 22, 1936 and passed away December 13, 2008 in Richards, Texas. Georgann grew up in Baytown, Texas and graduated from R. E. Lee High School in 1954. She married Charles Rhodes in 1955. To this union was born four children. They had a dairy farm and raised quarter horses. She loved working with horses and ranch life. Charles and Georgann ended their marriage in 1973.

She then went to work for the railroad. Georgann knew Ray Walker since Jr. high school. They met again at a high school reunion in 1984 and were married in 1988. They moved to Richards, Tx and retired there. She adored her children and grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Preceding her in death was her son, Bobby Rhodes. She is survived by her husband, Ray Walker, son, Marty Rhodes of Baytown, daughter, Charla Busa of Richards, daughter Cheryl Burzynski and husband, Floyd of Plantersville, stepsons, Scottt Walker of Austin, Russ Walker of Highlands and stepdaughter, Melissa Rutledge of Austin, eight grandchildren, Shane Busa, Colton and Seth Rhodes, Nicole Harrington, Tara Greer, Brittany Norwood, Blake and Ryan Burzynski and four great grandchildren.

The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Nale Stifflemire with Texas Home Health for the warmth, care and support she gave Georgann during her long illness.

A visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, Dec 16th from 6 - 8 pm at Nobles Funeral Chapel, 402 E. Blackshear in Navasota. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, Dec 17 at Nobles Funeral Chapel. (936)825-7776
