Gene "Butch" Maxson, 64, of Navasota passed away Monday, March 3, 2008, at his residence. Visitation will be Thursday, March 7 at Nobles Funeral Chapel with the family present from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. Friday at Frieden's Church of Washington, U.C.C. with Rev. Ron Trimmer officiating.. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Maxson was born July 6, 1943, the son of Everett and Lucille (Rickerson) Maxson. He married his wife, Glenda (Blake) Maxson, on May 16, 1970.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Larry Maxson and sister Ursula Sellers.
Gene is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Tex & Stephanie Maxson of Navasota.
Serving as pallbearers are Tex Maxson of Navasota, Mastafa Ahmadi of Houston, Jon Hildebrand of College Station, Frank Carmena of Baton Rouge, LA, Eddie Akin of Cleveland, Bob Lutz, Mike Rickerson, Darby Lutz, all of Arcadia, NE. Honorary pallbearers are A.J. Foyt, Jon Hill and Ronnie Williams.
