Furman Edward Ellis, 75, of Navasota passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan.
Visitation was Friday at Nobles Funeral Chapel with the family present from 6-8 pm. Funeral services were held at 10 am Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Nobles Funeral Chapel with Chaplin Gary Mayfield officiating. Interment followed in Oakland Cemetery in Navasota.
Furman was born in Douglasville, Georgia on April 6, 1933, the son of Furman and Gracie Mae (Miller) Ellis.
Furman was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Jean Adkins Ellis and his parents.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in law, Mandy & John McClure of Navasota, LuAnn & Ronnie Smith of Douglasville, GA, and Dale & Jimmy Eldridge of Navasota; sons and daughter-in-law, Mickey Ellis of Hempstead, and David & Christy Ellis of Navasota; sister Allene Sudduth of Douglasville, GA; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were John McClure, Jimmy Eldridge, and Eugene Nobles all of Navasota, Jason Gilstrap of Willis, Kevin Prater of Conroe and Brian Acreman of Montgomery.
