Fred "Bubby" W. Schaper, Jr., 74, of Anderson passed away Saturday, November 3, 2007 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan.
Graveside services are set for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 7 at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Dickinson. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota with a prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Schaper was born on September 20, 1933 in Galveston, son of Leona Henrietta (Ostermeyar) and Fred William Schaper, Sr.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Larry Schaper; brother, Allen Schaper; and sisters, Leona Thornton and Nancy Zahradnik.
Mr. Schaper is survived by his wife, Nellie Schaper of Anderson; sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Jody Schaper of Bedias and Glenn and Donna Schaper of Brenham; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Blake Vezurk of Anderson; sister, Edna Schaper of Galveston; brothers, David Lee Schaper of Anderson, Kenneth Schaper of Santa Fe, and Douglas Schaper of Derby, Kansas; twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are Dale Schaper, Jr. of Fort Worth, Bryan Schaper of Crosby, Glenn Schaper, Jr. of Brenham, Ryan Schaper of Galveston, Chris Schaper of Brenham, and Cash Williams of College Station. Honorary pallbearers include Connor Vezurk of Anderson, Bubba Cleary of Brenham, and Tommy Stunson of La Marque.
In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
