Fred G. Leiber, 79, of Anderson passed away Monday, April 21, 2008, at his residence.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 22nd at Nobles Funeral Chapel with the family present from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Anderson with Pastor Dan Schoessow officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Fred was born in Anderson on October 2, 1928, the son of Herman and Emma (Horn) Leiber. He married Joyce Ann Finke on June 4, 1954 in Anderson. Fred was actively involved in the VFW and American Legion. He also served in the U. S Army during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother George Leiber, brothers and sisters-in-law Herman and Julia Leiber, Oscar and Adeline Leiber, brothers-in-law Fred Finke and Roy Molitor and nephew Ronnie Leiber.
Fred is survived by his wife of 54 years Joyce Ann Leiber of Anderson, daughter and son-in-law Marlene and Mark Stirl of Houston, son and daughter-in-law Kenneth and Suzie Leiber of Ft. Worth, sister Clara Leiber Finke of White Hall, brother and sisters-in-law Edward and Janet Leiber, Alvina Leiber, all of Navasota, Norma Finke Molitor of Anderson, and five grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are Marshall Leiber of San Antonio, Jerry Leiber of Sealy, David Leiber of Sugarland, Art Courville of White Hall, Michael Molitor and Randy Molitor, both of Anderson. Honorary pallbearers are Fred's granddaughters. The family would like to thank Dr. C.H. Prihoda, Hospice Brazos Valley, and all family and friends who offered prayers and support. Memorials may be sent to Zion Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or Hospice Brazos Valley.
